Dental trauma in young children can be challenging to manage, particularly when the patient is distressed and the developing permanent dentition is at risk. This webinar provides a practical overview of the assessment and management of traumatic dental injuries in the primary dentition, with a focus on making confident, evidence-based clinical decisions.We’ll explore the different types of traumatic injuries commonly seen in primary teeth, including concussion, subluxation, luxation injuries, intrusion, avulsion and dental fractures. The webinar will cover what to look for during the initial assessment, when radiographs are indicated, when to intervene and when observation is the best approach.

Associate Professor Angus Cameron

Angus Cameron is a specialist paediatric dentist practicing in Sydney. He worked at Westmead Hospital in Sydney for over 30 years, heading the Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics for over 18 years. Angus is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and the University of Newcastle. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the International College of Dentists and the Academy of Dentistry International Angus has lectured extensively throughout Australia and internationally and is the co-editor of the leading textbook, the Handbook of Pediatric Dentistry recently published in its 5th edition and translated into 7 languages. Now, predominately in private practice, he consults in Sydney’s northern beaches, and on the central coast of NSW. His main interests are in the management of children with dental anomalies, paediatric oral medicine, trauma and particularly those with special needs. He also runs a specialist clinic for children with feeding and speech difficulties and tongue ties.
